Fuel is a major cost to transport companies. WRSC’s fuel consumption contributes to around one fifth of our total transport expenses. Fluctuations in fuel prices have an impact on the stability of operations. In 2008, WRSC introduced a Fuel Levy to ensure these fluctuations have minimal adverse effect with rises and falls in fuel prices being borne by the Customer.
Our Fuel Levy is based on the 2004 year average price of $1.048 per litre and calculated on our average fuel purchase price of the preceding month and the current Fuel Tax Credit rate. Previous to 01 Dec 22, our Fuel Levy was calculated using our purchase price on 21st day of each preceding month. Calculation and previous years can be provided on request.
