In August 2014, WRSC were contacted by the BBC television show “Top Gear” to film a roadtrain overtaking sequence with 3 performance vehicles. After a trial run with the Producers in September, the date was booked for late October.
We travelled to the Victoria Hwy, just outside of Katherine to meet up with the Top Gear crew. Our role was to drive three loaded roadtrains in close range to each other while a BMW M6, Nissan GT-R and Bentley overtook us at speed. The highway was closed while filming took place with a helicopter flying overhead to get the spectacular shots.
All up there were over 25 cameras placed on the performance vehicles, prime movers, trailers, side of the road and helicopter. A fantastic day for WRSC.
